But what exactly is renewable energy?
Renewable energy is defined as ‘energy that is derived from resources that are regenerative or cannot be depleted.’ These include solar panels, air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and wind turbines.
Ground Source Heat Pumps
A ground source heat pump is an electrically powered system that uses the natural energy stored in the earth to heat your home. The principle is simple and the result is low-cost comfortable heating that uses sustainable energy and causes no direct emissions or other damage to the environment.
For every single kilowatt of electricity used to power the ground source heat pumps, this system could generate four kilowatts or more in energy for your home, whilst helping to conserve the earths dwindling supply of non-renewable fossil fuels - coal, gas and oil. |
